The Campus Caravan, the student publication, is so distinctively superior to anything of its kind in the past, that it con-stitutes his most outstanding achievement. Mr. Nichols came out under a special three year contract but enjoys the rank of a full time member of faculty. He has been given a light teaching schedule in order to give him time to study more fully the journalistic field in Egypt, to deal with such extra-curricular activities as the Campus Caravan, but above all to study the enrolment problem and then promote measures for student-getting. Before his second year is completed there should be an appraisal of the importance of this whole field of work for the long future of the College. Extra-Curricular Activities call for special mention. These included during the past year: the Moli'ere Club, the Maskers, the Lingua Club, the Campus Caravan, the Boy Scouts, the Arabic Club, the International Club, the Orchestra and the Athletic teams. Two needs emerged during the year: first, for some method of control so that over-ambitious students should not engage in too many activities; second, that a Calendar of Entries be kept to prevent collisions in the claims of different organizations upon the students' time. It was also felt that no further activities should be launched unless the student body increases materially. Space does not permit to dwell upon the extremely creditable work done by these various organizations special prominence being given to the Molière Club, The Maskers and the Campus Caravan. The latter has become a really creditable College students' paper, which is not only a cause for pride, but which has eliminated under the wise guidance of Mr. Nichols may student jealousies and much friction common in past years, to the great relief of the administration. In conclusion, I wish to express the appreciation of the administration that Mrs. Vandersall was willing to serve as Dean of Women for the 13 women students whom we had enrolled. Her services were most efficient, most needed, and most highly appreciated. In place of the usual thanks of the Dean of the College to the President for his collaboration and sympathy, let me close by expressing py deep grati-tude to the College Faculty and to the entire College staff for their patience with an inexperienced leader in the Dean's office and for their loyalty and oft expressed sympathy with me in nor work as Chairman of the College Faculty during 1937-38.
