Dr. Harold Boyt Smith of the College was appointed Acting Chairman. More difficult was the problem of providing a teaching staff to take up the load carried by Dr. Boktor. Dr. Smith volunteered for some extra work and Mrs. Conn most generously contributed four periods of teaching. Thus a fairly good showing was made and the organization of the School was kept unimpaired, but it is with genuine relief that we find Dr. Boktor back in Egypt for the opening of the year 1939-40. Four men and one woman were given the degree of B.A. in Education this year. The enrollment for the year suffered because of Dr. Boktor's absence during the second semester.
