78 President's Report I. College of Arts and Sciences The College represents the oldest and the largest unit of the Univer-sity's program. It absorbs over fifty-five per cent of the funds sent out from America and gives us wide and substantial contacts with the life of Egypt. Considerable anxiety existed with reference to the successful operation of the College because of the absence of Dr. McClenahan from the opening of College until almost January 1st (1927) and his serious disability in the limitation of his eyesight. On this score, however, anxiety was removed for every shortage seemed more than made up. During Dr. McClenahan's absence Mr..
