The Chairman also requested that a list of the principal faculty of the Universlty and the members of the University Council be furnished to all of the trustees. The Chairman then reported that meetings had been held by the committee appointed to consider the committee structure of the Board. He stated that no final conclusions had been arrived at. He pointed out that he was primarily concerned with the future possibility that the Executive Commfttee might be looked upon as an Ipner group of the Board and thereby tend to reduce the Involvement and interest of other trustees In Board matters. Discussion followed as to the reasons for the present composition of the Execu­tive Committee. most of the members of which are located near the New York area. and the necessity of having a small group capable of acting In emergencies. One suggestion ad­vanced was that all new members of the Board be placed on the Executive Committee so that their orientation with the University would occur at an early date. Discussion was also had on the classiflcation of other committees, partic­ularly that of the budget and Investment committees as sub­committees of the financial development committee. The Chairman thereupon appointed a committee of Or. Dirks. the Chancellor, the Secretary and himself to consider the question of the composition of the Executive Committee and to report to the Board at Its next meeting with recommenda­tions. He also requested each committee chairman to re­evaluate the functions and composition of his or her com­mittees and to report to the Board at its next meeting with any recommendatIons for change which might be deemed advisable. The Importance of Board members who have not been able to attend this meeting visiting the University for a better understanding of Its operations and functions was discussed. On motion duly made and seconded the following resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLVED, that each new member of the Board of Trustees, within sIx months from the date of his or her election, and all present members who have not visited the University be requested to do so as soon as feasible at the expense of the University. It was suggested that new Board members and those who have not visIted the Unlverslty be contacted by the President to determine a possible time for a joint visit to Cairo
