THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN CAIRO Board of Trustees Executive Committee Meeting 27th January, 1967. The Executive Committee and the Committee on Financial Affairs met jointly on the 27th of January, 1967 at 9.30 a.m. in the Univer­sity office in New York, 866 United Nations Plaza, New York, 10017. Present: Dr. Bartlett, Messrs. Barco, Crary, Newsom, Thorne, Van Vleck and ThQron, as Secretary. The Committees met primarily to discuss the next steps in con­nection with the decision of the Board to actively seek additional dollar funds and specifically to consider the report submitted at the request of the Sub-Committee on Development by Oram Associates, Inc., 8 West 40th Street, New York, N.Y. At the request of the Board, Mr. Oram attended part of the meeting to present the report and to respond to any questions which the members might have. Mr. Oram's presentation of his report was brief and generally reiterated the conclusions and recommendations set forth in the report (previously circulated to the Board)., In the presentation o~ the report and in the subsequent discussions between Mr. Oram and the members of the Committees, Mr. Oram expressed the following views: (a) For any successful fund raising undertaking it is essential for the University to identify and develop a constituency capable of minimum contributions of $5,000 to $6,000, or able to influence or give access to people capable of such contributions
