I THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN CAIRO Minutes of Meeting of Board of Trustees 5th January, 1967. The Board of Trustees of The American University in Cairo met at the River Club, New York, N.Y. on Thursday, 5th January, 1967 at 9.30 a.m. Present: Mrs. Lord, Messrs. Barco, Bartlett, Bickford, Cole, Crary, Newsom, Payne, Pendleton, Roper, Thorne, Thoron and Wells. Absent: Mrs. Hammond, Mrs. Sanders, Messrs. Badeau, Dirks, I Dodds, Dohm, Dorwin, Harbison, McLain and Van Vleck. The meeting was called to order by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Barco, and Mr. Thoron acted as Secretary. Mr. Barco introduced Dr. Herman Wells, Chancellor of the Univer-sity of Indiana, and welcomed him on behalf of the Board members. Mr. Barco also welcomed the return of Dr. Pendleton to the United States and to the regular meetings of the Board. Mr. Barco conveyed the greetings and best wishes for the New Year from the Chairman, Dr. Dirks, who would shortly be returning to the United States, as well as the regrets of Mrs. Hammond and Mrs. Sanders at not being able to be present because of illness.
