I I I The American University in Cairo Meeting of the Board of Trustees Tuesday, 7 January 1969 ~ The Board of Trustees of the American University in Cairo met for its annual meeting Tuesday, January 7, 1969, at 10:00am, at the Recess, 60 Broad Street, New York, New York. Present were: The Chairman Mr. Payne, Vice Chairman Mr. Barco, Recording Secretary Mr. Crary, Dr. Bartlett, Mr. Bickford, Dr. Dirks, Mr. Dohm, Dr. Harbison, Mrs. Sanders, Dr. Simpson, Mr. Thorne, Mrs. Weyerhaueser and Mr. Thoron as Executive Secretary. Mr. Payne announced to the Board that Mr. Dodds, who was up for reelection as a Trustee had announced his desire to resign from the Board due to the pressures of his legal practice in Pittsburgh and other local interests which made it increasingly difficult for him to attend with reasonable regularity the Board meetings. The Board accepted with regret Mr. Dodds' resignation and expressed its gratitude to him for his service. The following trustees were then elected for the regular three year term: Mr. Payne, Mr. Crary, Dr. Dirks, Mr. Dohm, Mrs. Sanders, Dr. McLain and Dr. Harbison. The Board then elected the following officers, Chairman Mr. Payne, Vice Chairman Mr. Barco, Treasurer Mr. Barco, Recording Secretary Mr. Crary. The Board then heard the report of the Vice Chairman, Mr. Barco, on developments in connection with the proposed Egyptian pound fund. Subsequent to the events reported at the last meeting of the Board (see minutes of the October 24 meeting) the administrator of the Agency for International Development (AID) had indicated he had no objections t
