It was decided that the President should appoint an ad interim University Council composed of Middle Eastern personnel; the ad interim Council will act for AUG interests in Egypt and will be the governing body in all decisions concerned with the University at the Egyptian end, and will consult with the president on other matters. 1. 4133 - UNIVERSITY PESPOrS:ZBILITY TOUI PJJ STAFF: The University will honor its contractual obligations to all staff in so far as it is able and subject to the decisions of the Board of Trustees. Clerical staff will, it is s assumed, be needed during the ad interim period. Al; ]ee..st for the immedigte future, during the ad interim period, all teaching staff, both here and abroad, will attempt in every wa, to increase his or her usefulness to the University by further study or research. The SRC will continue its research operation under the supervision of Dr. Boktor with due consideration to be given to those who wish to enter the service of Egypt. 1. 4134 - IIi3RARY: There is sufficient work to keep all librarians busy. Books will be available to staff and to other special groups to be determined by the University Council. 1. 4135 - HILL HOUSE;: The fo11owinp; principles will govern the use of Hill House during the interim period: 1) Students leaving Hill Louse will be refunded appropriate proportionate amount of the room fees. 2) Students who cannot leave for various reasons will be allowed to remain in Hill House for the time being. The entry into Hill House will be the back entrance (nearest Hill House) and no students will be permitted on the grounds of the University or to use the front doors of Hill House. 3) Food will not be available on University grounds. 4) The name of the supervisor of Hill House, who will live in the building will be announced in the near future. 5) No new residents wi_l1 be accepted for Hill House except in the case of staff members mentioned below. 6) The rules ordinarily prevailing for the conduct and management of Hill House will continue in force. 7) In so f^r as facilities permit, the administration will accept applications from staff members who wish to move to Hill House.. 1. 4136 - POSSIB IE USE OF UNIVET SI TY FACILITIES DURING INTEL- IM PEPI OD s It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the interim Council with the recommendation that it presents an opportunity, through its staff, to serve Egypt
