As letters from old subscribers began coming in, giving economic reasons for non-renewal and as new subscriptions proved to be extra-ordinarily difficult to get, we began to feel that we would be fortunate if we could close the year without an actual loss. The annual magazine report will show about the same number of subscriptions as the previous year. This is made possible however, only because of the fact that the Egyptian Ministry of Education sub scribed for 103 copies instead of their usual nine.
