On her motion, seconded by Mr. Donwln, the following resolutIon was unanImously adopted: RESOLVED, That the Board of Trustees of the University hereby regIsters Its special admiration and thanks to Wilton O. Cole. who served as Chainman of the Board from July 1. 1963 through the close of this meeting, in the absence of Dr. Dirks, during which period he organized and conducted the four..c:fay meetings of the Board held in Cairo and other meetin~s of the Board and Its committees. He has brought to the foard delIberations and to the Uni­versity administratIve staff a number of new approaches and Ideas and a receptIvity to the needs of the UnIversity's changing directions and he has responded generously wIth his tIme and understandIng to calls upon hfm by the staff and Board members of the UniversIty. It was suggested that the Executive CommIttee meet between this date and the sprIng meeting of the Board to consider the whole questIon of committee organIzatIon. Or. DIrks outlined the functIons of the Board as: 1. FinancIal - raIsIng money, supervIsing investments, overseeing budget 2. AssistIng In recruiting personnel - InterviewIng on behalf of offIcers of the University 3. Assist officers both in this country and In Egypt In the matter of exchange of goods and persons, especIally the latter 4. Pa.rpetuate the Board and strengthen the No:n iJ"uting Committee 5. Pub 11 cI ty 6. Cooperate In the academic program Committee structure for 1956=66 was discussed. The following motIon was moved, seconded and unanimously adopted: THAT the Board refer to the Executive Committee the questIon of personnel and committee structure other than budget. Investments,and nominations committees,with the following suggested changes: Add Mr. Dold to the Budget Committee Add Mr. Payne and Mr. Barco to the Investment CommIttee Add Mrs. Lord to the NominatIng CommIttee
