Harbison and Mr. Kuhn for study and action if necessary, to be brought before the Executive Committee for recommendation to the Board. Statement of financial provisions In connection with the retirement of Dr. Boktor was presented (as per statement of November 11, 1961, attached to official minutes). Upon motion, duly seconded, the arrangement as presented was approved by the Board. Action on a policy for retirement to be followed in the future was postponed on advice of legal counsel In Egypt since pending laws might affect the rules involved. Discussion of faculty salaries was postponed to a later meeti ng. It was suggested that the Executive Committee be com­missioned to review and act upon all Items left unfinished at this meeting. _ Dr. McLain expressed the opinion that the Chairman of the Board should spend more time at the University to get acquainted with the operation of the University, the faculty, the Egyptian setting, etc. The Board agreed on the wisdom of the suggestion and upon motion, duly seconded, It was voted THAT the Chainman of the Board of Trustees and his wife be Invited to visit the University this winter, the dates to be worked out with Dr. McLain and Or. Dirks, the expenses to be allowed for the trip In the current budget. Dates for the spring meeting of the Board and for the next annual meeting were discussed, and the followIng actions voted: THAT the spring meeting of the Board of Trustees be held on the last Saturday In April 1962 In New York; and THAT the next annual meeting of the Board. of Trustees be held on December 1, 1962 (lithe fl rst Saturday following the Saturday after Thanksgiving")
