The first proposal of a temporary building is unsatisfactory because it involves: (a) Asking donors in America to allow the use of their money for a temporary city building whin it was actually givoa for pormanont suburban buildings. (b) The invest-ment in a temporary building is expensive and such a building would not provide neodod accommodations for more than five years. (c) A temporary building would not solve the problem of the hostel nor provide the needed rooms for social and extra class activities. The second proposal of soiling tha suburban site and locating Lincoln School olsctirhore is obviously impossible so far as the Agou.za location is conc.:rned. Maadi offers strong educational competition in the form of Victoria College which is romoving to that site. Furthermore, it will cost just as much to build a secondary building in Maadi as it would on our own suburban site and the saine bus tramsportation facilities would be needod. Thus the only practical plan seems to be the one originally proposed, i.e. the removal of Lincoln School and the Faculty to the original suburban site. Plan for Removal - As the plan for removal to the suburban property is carried out the following steps are suggested: 1. Remove Lincoln School and the Hostel to the suburban site. 2. Allow the Faculty of Arts & Sciences to continue temporarily at the city site using the rooms vacated by Lincoln School. 3. Remove the Faculty of Arts E. Sciences to the suburban sito as quickly after the completion of Lincoln School as money becomes available. 4. With the removal of Lincoln School inaugurate the first year of Five Year Plan. If this plan is carriod out the following time table is suggested: Remove village and building main roads - summer of 1943. Larson prepare final plans and specifications - summer of 1948 - March 1949 (Dr. Badeau will be in Ain rica during this period). Sall rear portion city site - summer 1948 - March 1949. Begin actual construction - Juno 1949. Soll suburban plots - winter 1949-1950. Remove hostel to new site - Obtobor 1949. Remove Lincoln School in total - October 1950
