The Pandas girls volleyball came out with a win in the 2A zones. Teams have been made for both grade 8 and 9 girts basketball. For the grade 8 girls the players are: Diane Smith, Pam Harris, Julie Zobell, Janie Mehew, Reagan Mehew, Emily ScOS,^ Angie Scott, Jenny Zobell, Cindy Anderson, Stephanie Passey, Ciana Barnett, Colette Shaw, Tiffany Hatch. They will be coached by Wayne Harris and Darla Mehew. For the grade 9 girls the players are: Aleesa Nelson, Allison Tollestrup, Erin Dahl, Lyndsi Dahl, Jenny Johnson, Brenna Harris, Jyme Beth Many Grey Horses, Kali Johnson, Mandy Karren, Tasha Henry. They will be coached by Tim Tollestrup. Chemistry student of the week was a tie by the two Woodruff sisters, Rhonda and Shandra. (He was successful in getting an Alberta court to find in his favour against the Alberta Govn. for wrongful dismissal from his job as a teacher because of his open homosexuality. The judge found in his favour, not because the law was on his side, but because she felt it should have been. Therefore she read into the law what she felt should be there and made her judgement based on that opinion.) NOVICE HAWKS: The Hawks played another exciting league game this time in Fort Macleod. It was a very intense game with the final outcome of a 5-5 tie. We got behind in the first 2 periods but came alive in the 3rd bringing the score to a tie twice. Magrath scorers were: Aaron Ragan 1-0, Doug Mehew 2-0, Logan Hofer 2-0 Jessie Harker 0-1. Goal tending duties were shared by Aaron Ragan and Shane Nishikawa both made excellent stops. Raymond Hospital on Wednesday, Nov 16, 1994 at the age of 90 years, formerly of Magrath, beloved wife of the late Mr. Earl Seward. Nellie was born n Corydon, Iowa in 1904 to General and Nora Lash, the 6tfa.o£9 children. In 1926 she married Earl Seward and moved to the Magrath District. Nellie lived on the family farm near Magrath from 1926 until 1989 when declining health forced her to move to the Raymond Auxiliary Long Term Care Unit where she received loving care until the time of her passing. Nellie leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Evelyn (Alan) MacKay of Welling and Beverly Hayes of Lethbridge; one daughter-in-law, Claudette Seward of Coaldale; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren; one sister and one brother, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Nellie was predeceased by her husband, Earl Seward in 1980; her grandson Wesley MacKay in 1988; and her son, Dale Seward in 1994; as well as two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services were held in Lethbridge on Nov 21, 1994 with Reverend Arij Langstraat officiating. Interment took place at the Mountain View Cemetery, family plot.
