The Zeniths did a great job, coming all the way to the finals but losing out to CCHS with a score of 62-52. The final results were: 1st - CCHS 2nd - ZENITHS 3rd - Cardston who won over Kainai 75-46. Consolation - LCI who won over WR Meyers 76­62. The Sportsmanship Trophy went to Kate Andrews, Coaldale. The MVP went to Regan Lane of CCHS. The Zeniths and the Pandas will both be heading off to the LCI tournament this - Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So come on out and cheer on your highschool team! Congratulations to Tami Bly who won Chemistry student of the week. Congratulations also to Beth Rudd and Shage Zobell for winning the 'Best Blue and Gold Award'. Way to go girls. TADPOLE HOCKEY: The Tadpoles played a game on Saturday Dec. 3rd in Cardston. The score was 5-4 with three minutes of play left when the team used the strategy of pulling their goalie, using the extra player to get the tieing goal. The score ended at 5-5. The goals and assists were made by: Cole Barnett 2-2, Callan Gaff 2-2, Todd Brandham 1-1, Layne Gill 0-2, Todd Perks 0-1, Connor Barnett 0-1 and Russell Ririe 0-1. Don’t forget to come out and support our team tournament Dec 9-10. NOVICE HAWKS NEWS: On Nov 26th we finally had a home game against Cardston, but we ended up losing 7-5. Magrath scorers were: Doug Mehew 2-2, Logan Hofer 1-0, Ben Koskewich 1-0, John Rudd 1-0, Russel Johnson and Brady Mehew shared goal tending duties. Word was received in Magrath Monday evening of the death of Ken Spring of Hamilton, (Nanticoke) Ont. He passed away Bunday, Dec 4th at the age of 70yrs following*axbrief illness. Ken attended school in Magrath, served in the Armed Forces in WWH following which he moved to Hamilton where he married and was employed with International Harvester for many years. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Jack & Lily Spring of Magrath; his wife, Norma, in January of 1994; a sister, Ruth Shelton, of Lewiston, Mont. He is survived by his son John, and daughters Betty & Karen all of the Hamilton area; a brother Doug Spring of Calgary; sisters Helen Stamp-Vincent of Kelowna, BC and Joyce (Grant) Campbell of Calgary. Friends of Ken will remember his visit this past June when he enjoyed seeing many old friends and acquaintances. Better to trip with the feet than with the tongue. 1 I I i I MAGRATH T.O.P.S. The team played Strathmore in game 1 winning 5-3.
