TEKNIK PEMERIKSAAN MRI LUMBAL PADA KASUS HERNIA NUKLEUS PULPOSUS (HNP)

Hernia Nukleus Pulposus (HNP) is adisease of neurological the spine due to a degenerative or traumatic process. Examination Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic imaging modality that can generate multiplanar slices of the body anatomy with excellent contrast resolution. However, modifications need to be made in the selection of the examination protocol to optimize the signal to noise (SNR) value without reducing anatomical and pathological information. Optimization of the SNR value is one of the innovative methods for diagnosing hernia nukleus pulposus. The purpose of literature study thisis to determine the Lumbar MRI Examination Technique in the case of hernia nukleus pulposus.This research is a descriptive qualitative research withstudy method literature. The subjects in this study consisted of 3 (three) sources, consisting of 1 (one) textbook and 3 (three) scientific journals obtained from various databases so that the similarities and differences could be compared. This literature study was conducted in April - May 2020.The results of this literature review study, the lumbar MRI examination protocol in cases of herniated nucleus pulposus, which the authors recommend using sagittal T1, sagittal T2 Fat Suppretion, axial T1, axial T2 Fat Suppretion and coronal T2 Fat Suppretion with the use of Parallel Imaging Techniques and the use of TSE Volume Variable Flip Angel where the name of the software varies in each device vendor. The use of a slice thickness of 4 mm and the use of FOV must cover areas where pathology is suspected in clinical lumbar vertebrae because it must show sufficient anatomy to detect all anatomy in the lumbar vetebra
