ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN INFORMASI DIAGNOSTIK CITRA MRI LUMBAL PADA KASUS HERNIA NUCLEUS PULPOSUS (HNP) ANTARA POSISI PASIEN SUPINE DAN LATERAL DECUBITUS

Background : Positioning of patients on MRI examination is the procedure of positioning the patient, the placement of the patient in the coil and the proper immobilization techniques in the MRI is a produce to get an optimal image and to prevent the motion artefact that occurs due to patient discomfort. The purpose of this study was to determine the diagnostic information of lumbal MRI in cases of nucleus pulposus hernia between supine and lateral decubitus patient positions.Methods : This research is quantitative by comparison method. This research was conducted by MRI Siemens Magnetom C at JIH Hospital with five samples. Assessment of the images were conducted in the form of respondents assessment of the clearence of diagnostic information of the image including corpus, discus, spinal cord, cerebro spinal fluid, and herniation. Qualitative data analysis with Cohen's Kappa test, cross tabulation and Wilcoxon test.Conclusion : The lateral decubitus positioning technique on open gantry MRI type is useful if patient is not possible to be positioned supine in order to accurately examine lumbar MRI in cases of HNP without using sedation drugs
