Gardner, and Kamal. 83. minutes; The Committee approved the minutes of the meeting of December 15, 1953. 84. Gifts: The Secretary reoorted that some publications were received,as gifts from A.U.B. A.U.C. Library has been put on the a iling list, at the recom endation of Dr. Barruf. A letter of thanks was sent. 85. Visits: The Committee was informed about the requests of Peoples University and Ibrahim University, to allow their stu ents visit the library and get an idea about thr system; )enzion Corooration and Public Service institute, admiring the procedure, wish to learn the system, in order to adopt it. 86. Inter-Library Loans; The Chairman reported that he raised the question of Inter-libray loans to Dr. McCarthy, of Cortfwll University. Although Dr. McCarthy is willing to guarantee that his library, at Cornell, -ill be willing to cooperate. He suggests icrofilms as the better means for getting special materials in general. Further exploring with Dr. cCarthy will be continued. It was suggested,as well,that the University Council mig t investigate the possibility of getting photographs of acquired rare publications. 87. agazine Subscriptions: The Chairman informed the Committee about the suggestions given in response to the circular to the Teaching-Staff on Magazine subscriptions. After discussion, the mat -er was tabled for future action. 88. Arabic lewspape r: A subscription to a good Arabic daily aper, for filing was su jested. The Committee was informed of having an English paper for language practice, and of the limit tion of space for a newspaper file. 8Library Pours; It was recommended, as an experiment, to have the library continue open on Wednesdays and Fridays till 7;00p. m. , for the interested* ight Course Students. It was voted to experi ent for sisfereek . umber of attendance will be xxxx taken each ime, to help* determine the success of the experiment.
