UNIVERSITY COUNCIL LIBRARY COMMITTEE MINUTES January 20, 1953 A meeting of the Library Committee was held at 11:00 a. m, January 30, 19 53, Present were: Dr. Howard, Dr. Butros, Hr. Hanna Risk and Kamal Butros. The following actions were taken: 29. The Committee was informed of lack of circulating list for new books. It was proposed that a Memo should be sent to the persons who recommended the procedure at the beginning of the Fall. 30. ^he relations between 90S Library and Main Library was considerei . It was agreed that the Staff of the Library could borrow the publication needed for Faculty students from SOS Library; Reference books might be requested upon appointment. 31. The Committee was informed of the procedure of having Reserves ready at the beginning of Semester; teachers were requested to prepare their Reserves Not Later tha enuary 30 , so that the Staff might have time to get Reserve ohelves ready as early as possible. 32. It was agreed to close the Library two days for washing and cleaning, early during Vacation; Inventory, left last Summer, to be taken, 33. It was reported that “Fluorescent Light” has been installed on the Charging Desk. 34* The Committee was informed of the damage in Reference Books; Dr. Howard to follow up Campaign with Student Body; Heads of departments to try replacing Individuals (Certain volumes) 35, It was suggested to invite teachers to the Library, once a month; a book xx to be introduced by one member in a short talk, Tea to be served. 36. The Committee adjourned at 12;Q0 Noon, to meet again on Tuesday, February 10, 1953 at 11:00 a.m. Respectfully submitted Kamal Butro
