UNIVERSITY COUNCIL LIBRARY COMMITTEE MINUTES June 32, 1953 A. meeting of the Library Com ittee was held at 9;00a. m. June 1953. Present were Dr. Howard, Dr. But roe, r. Hanna Risk and K. mtros The following actions were taken: 53. Previous inutes The Committee approved the minutes of the meeting of 53. procedure of Refunding Deposits. rch 17, 1953. The Committee was informed of the difficulty, caused at the time of refunding deposits. Bursar*s Office was worried about the system and number of books, borrowed by a one student!! Correspondence between both departments were read. Secretary explained the reasons, why procedure of the Library was desirable. 54-. Accomplishments. It was requested to have(l) One more 11 Information File" Cabinet, MMagazine Rack** for new added periodicals, (3) New "Book-case” for Expanding Library collection, (4) One more case for "Reserve Books” It was agreed to apply for the cases, and try to have t e Cabinet. The "Flatten" for the Arabic Typewriter was reported "Received". It is hoped to have "Room 108" added to the Library next Fall!! 55. Introducing Library to Teachers. It wa.s suggested to invite teachers at the Library, sometime before Semester begins, that is to xchange plans between the staff and Teachers for making procedure work easily and satisfactorily. 56. Added New Books. It was agreed to continue making a Circulating list of \ddinge; A copy may be prepared for Dr* Howard to take care with Stencilling and distributing to members, interested. 57. Future Orders. The Committee was informed of the good business, done to future ods. Duplications avoided, Budgetary and distributing to various dept a. available. It was suggested to give a special care to Ref. Books, in order to suuply the needs of Research workers. It was reported that Catalog is available and helpful for making Filing done up-to-dtw 58. It was reported that "Student-assistants" gave individual staff members real help in special work. It is recommended to continue help. SS. 59.
