( .. ALUMNI & STUDENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE November 21, 1988 -4- Corps in Cairo to recommend a consultant to review our alumni program at the University . Mr. William Olney, retired from the Alumni Office of Harvard University, was recommended and visited AUC this past fall . Mr. Olney met with the Director of Alumni Affairs, members of the Alumni Council and local graduates. His report of recommendations was submitted in November. A summary of his recommendations was distributed to Committee members. A further report is expected in February at the next Board meeting. H. 1988 Alumni Day Alumni Homecoming was held on Friday, October 21. A summary of the day's events which included a "Career Advising & Jobs Opportunities" program, was given to the Committee. I. AUC Olympic Participation Four members of the AUC community represented Egypt in Seoul this fall. While the three student athletes did not make the finals, Mr. Hassan Ahmed, Director of AUC's Sports Program, was selected as head referee for the women's final volleyball match. J. Richmond College A fellow member of the International American College Association, Richmond College visited AUC as part of a sports tour of Egypt. In addition to playing AUC teams in volleyball, tennis and soccer, the students from the campus in London enjoyed tours about Cairo and performances by AUC singing and folklore groups. It is expected that AUC students will visit Richmond College next year . 5. Miscellaneous A. Angela Avallone, Manager of Alumni Affairs, was introduced by Mrs. Desforges to the Committee
