e • -5- 1) That a recommendation be put forth to the faculty regarding the purchasing of more books for tr.e library especially ones relating to Egypt. 2) That a recommendation be put forth in relation to the Audio Visual Resource Centre. It was the student's desire to use this centre for cultural matters as well as for its present use (ELI and Arabic). 3) That students be compensated and/or shown appreciation for injury sustained while playing for AUC. This would include pardon from academic penalty for missing of lectures. 4) That the problem of advising, which at the moment is lacking in quality, be tackled. The Trustees recommended that senior students act as advisors and that freshmen students find out for themselves what courses are most suitable for their needs rather than be "spoonfed" by their advisors. 9. The next issue discussed was that of Alumni Affairs. The director of Trustee and Alumni Affairs started out by informing the Committee members of the new alumni organization planned for the near future. The organization - AUC International Alumni, chaired by Mrs. S. Mubarak and managed by alumni class and area representatives will have the objective of raising $15,000 in gifts and contributions from other alumni and friends thereof. 10. The drive, which will be initiated by the Chairman will be started in the fall so that by the February Board meeting there can be an award-giving ceremony for the two best gi~ts. This could take place at Commencement in the presence of all the graduatin g students
