, { THE AMERICAN UNIVURSITY IN CAIRO Minutes of the Meeting of The Board of Trustees June IS, 1971 The Board of Trustees of the American University in Cairo held a meeting on Tuesday, June IS , 1971 at the Recess, 60 Broad Street, New York City. Present were: Mr. Bickford, Mr. Black, Mr . Crary, Mrs . Hammond, Prof. Harbison, Dean Hoelscher, Mr. Payne, Dr. Simpson, Mr. Thorne, Mr. Thoron, Mr. Van Vleck, and Mr. O'Connor as Executive Secretary 1. Approval of the Agenda Dean Hoelscher said that given the actions of the Board at its previous meeting he thought that any discussion of fundamental or long-range changes in the institution would be improper and that if any such subjects were included in the agenda he would not take part in such considerations. He said that his understanding was that this meeting of the Board was to be for the purpose of discussing two things: first, the implementation of the decisions taken at the last meeting; and second, the Budget for next year. Dean Hoelscher also noted that he has not received minutes of the previous two meetings and objected to the delay .
