The Council in Egypt will nominate properly eua.lified. students from the Near Fast for U.S. Government scholarships for study in America. 2. The Committee re-affirms the appointment of Dr. and Tirs. E. E. Calverley with the understanding that their traveling expenses to Egypt and return be paid to them by the Science, Education, and Art Division of. the State Department. 3. The Science, Education and Art Division of the State Department will pur-chase and slip to Egypt as a donation to the Amer. ici-zr_ University at Cairo books on Political Science selected by the University up to a total of 1'3,000. The Committee on Education wishes to present for adoption the following resolutions: THAT the Trustees approve the arrangements for the Adams-Calverley exchange professorshia as outlined in a memorandum from Mr. Hermann A. Lum, Secretary of the American University at Cairo to Dr. Robbins !Wolcott Barstow, President of the Hartford Seminary Foundation under date of January 31, 1944. THAT Ir. John R. Shuman of Minneapolis be appointed short term teacher of English in the American University at Cairo for a period of three years com-mencing February 1, 1944, at the usual salary and allowances. THAT Mr. Earl W. Bloomquist, Jr., of Youngstown, Ohio, a first year man at the Crozer Theological Seminary, Chester, Pa., be appointed a short term teacher of English and Physical Education for a period of three years commencing with Sep-tember 1944 with the usual salary and allowances.
