The Committee voted that the recommendation of Dr. Badeau and Council in Egypt be approved, namely, THAT an Advisory Board be set up for the Division of Extension consisting of not more than twelve mem-bers chosen from prominent Egyptian officials, lecturers, etc., who shall be asked to serve in an advisory capacity, partly as an experi-ment in public relations and partly to utilize Egyptian resources that lie outside the University circle. Recommendations 1. THAT approval be given to the action of Dr. Badeau in approaching Harrell F. Beck, a short-term instructor, to accept the appointment as a permanent second man to Dr. Adams on the faculty of the School of Oriert al Studies. (As reported previously, Mr. Beck has accepted this appointment.) 2. THAT Dr. Adams be asked to remain on the faculty of the School of Oriental Studies in Egypt for two years beyond the usual time of his retirement. (Dr. Adams has signified his willingness to do this.) 3. THAT Paul H. MacClennan, B.A., Syracuse University, be appointed short-term teacher in the College of Arts and Sciences for a period of three years beginning September 1947, at the usual salary and allow-ances. 4. THAT Howard E. Root, A.B., University of Southern California, be appointed short-term teacher in the College of Arts and Sciences for a period of three years beginning September 1947, at the usual salary and allowances. 5. THAT Paul Riley, A.B., University of Southern California, be ap-pointed short-term teacher in the College of Arts and Sciences for a period of three years beginning September 1947, at the usual salary and allowances. 6.
