PERBANDINGAN INFORMASI DIAGNOSTIK PADA PEMERIKSAAN MRI BRAIN POTONGAN AXIAL SEKUEN T2 FLAIR DENGAN DAN TANPA TEKNIK PROPELLER PADA KASUS TUMOR OTAK

Brain tumor is an abnormal growth of cells in intracranial or extracranial space uncontrollably. Current tumour imaging uses MRI modalities. MRI Brain examination with the brain tumour cases use T2 FLAIR routine sequence. In patient with tumor cases in MRI examination that takes a long time then it is possibility for movement. Therefore, the current sequence development is use sequence that is combined with PROPELLER technique. This research aims to know the comparison between T2 FLAIR with and without PROPELLER technique in brain tumour case.The type of this research was qualitative research with experimental approach. The research was conducted to find out the comparison of diagnostic information between T2 FLAIR sequence with and without PROPELLER technique. The study was at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya used 10 samples of patients with brain tumor diagnose. The results of image were assessed by two observers who were radiology specialists. The data from the observers were analyzed using VGA analysis.Based on the result of VGA score analysis showed that there is difference of diagnostic information between T2 FLAIR sequence with PROPELLER and without PROPELLER. Based on the AUC value in the ROC curve of 0.766 (> 0.5) indicated that the sequence with the using of PROPELLER produced the better diagnostic information when be compared with image that not using PROPELLER. Suggestion from this research is when the brain tumor imaging should be used T2 FLAIR sequence with PROPELLER technique
