Oral history; interview with Dr. Thomas H. Loftin, April 9, 2012, Mitchell Memorial Library, Mississippi State University. Loftin was born in 1932 in Simpson County, Mississippi. Loftin first came to MSU as a student in the 1950s. After graduating in 1953, he worked off-campus for about 10 years. He began his career at Mississippi State in 1965 with the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service as a Community Development Specialist and later became Leader of Community Development. Dr. Loftin attended graduate school in Agricultural Economics in the Lloyd-Ricks Building while working for Community Development.
