Oral history with Dr. Charles W. Sappington; 4/20/2012

Oral history; interview with Dr. Charles Sappington, Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Information Science and Education, April 20, 2012, Mitchell Memorial Library, Mississippi State University. Dr. Sappington was born in 1933 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. Sappington first came to Mississippi State to work in 1963 in the Extension Information Department as Assistant Extension Editor. He had previously received his Master\u27s degree from MSU and his PhD from Florida State University. He served many roles as a part of the Mississippi State team. He was Assistant Tippah County Extension Agent in Ripley, Mississippi; Rural Defense Specialist with the Cooperative Extension Service; and State Leader, 4-H Youth Development. He retired from Mississippi State in 1987. Sappington was honored with the Kenneth Cook Award by the Mississippi 4-H Volunteer Leaders\u27 Association Board in 2008. During his time at MSU, Sappington spent many years on many different floors of the Lloyd-Ricks Building. In this interview, he discusses the day-to-day activities of working in Lloyd-Ricks, and the people who worked there with him
