Opción léxica y subjetividad traductora : contrainte y sus traducciones al español

Translators’ intervention in target texts can be detected by analyzing the lexical choices which show their conscious or unconscious stance with regard to the linguistic material they are rendering. Such signs of subjectivity certainly shape the reading of the target text by the final addressee and become particularly evident when translators are conveying lexical units with fuzzy semantic borders which are prone to different interpretations. In order to illustrate these general considerations, we have chosen the French word contrainte as a case study. A semantic as well as pragmatic approach, followed by a contrastive study, will allow us to highlight the impact on target texts of the discursive choices put forward by translators.La intervención del traductor puede detectarse tras determinadas elecciones léxicas que muestran su posicionamiento, consciente o inconsciente, con respecto al material lingüístico que está transmitiendo. Estas pinceladas de subjetividad, que sin duda condicionan la lectura que del texto meta hace el destinatario final, se ponen especialmente de manifiesto cuando los traductores recuperan unidades léxicas de contornos semánticos difusos que se prestan a diversas interpretaciones. Para ilustrar lo dicho y en el marco de un estudio de caso francés-castellano, tomaremos como ejemplo la palabra contrainte. Una aproximación semántico-pragmática a esta unidad léxica seguida de un análisis contrastivo permitirá arrojar luz sobre las consecuencias en el nuevo texto de las opciones discursivas propuestas por el traductor
