Gardner, Chairman of the Academic Program, Division of Extension, be re-appointed member of the permanent faculty of The American University at Cairo the usual salary and allowances, as recommended by the Acting President and Council, effective on completion of his first term of service. THAT E. Freeman Gossett be appointed a member of the permanent faculty of The American University at Cairo to serve in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences with the usual salary and allowances, the appointment to become effective July 1,__1954, or upon termination of his present service as short-term instructor /social sciences/. iT approval be given to the arrangement made by Dr. Schoonover with Dr. Edwin E, Calverley for his services as visiting professor in the School of Oriental Studies during 1954-55 on completion of his assignment with the Arabian-American Oil Co., at a salary of $1.50 per year, the rest of the $3000 available in the current budget to be used toward travel and residence expenses as far as may be necessary.
