Contrary to the customs of other leaders who would seek popularity by unduly flattering young people, Afifi Pasha boldly pointed out that Egypt could not expect much of the present generation of young people who mainly give themselves to unfruitful political antagonisms, instead of devoting their time and energy to the cultivation of knowledge and preparing to serve their country sincerely and efficiently.
