Part I: INTRODUCTION: Teachers College is happy to report a year which, while not out-standing in any way, has been reasonably successful in the things it has undertaken to do. A rapid readjustment of program was made necessary at the beginning of the school year, because of the difficult financial situation, but after the new program was inaugurated and the personalities involved had adjusted themselves to their new work, the year proceeded smoothly and in a cooperative fashion. Teachers College owes a real debt of gratitude to Mr. Cleland, who as teacher and as Chairman of the Educat-ion Committee and as personal advisor contributed greatly to the work of the year. The other members of the Committee deserve warm thanks for their faithful and valuable service. We cannot praise too highly Amir Eff. Boktor, who in addition to his studies 8t Teachers College, carried the major part of the editorial work of the Journal. He did his work so well that there was never a moments anxiety on the part of the staff in Egypt and the content of the magazine is said to have reached a new high level of achievement. Azir Eff. V asif gave unselfishly of his time and strength to whipping the material into final shape and to supervising its publica-tions. His load was a great one and was added to a teaching schedule which was already more than one man usually carries. Girgis Eff. Vahba, in spite of finding himself in a discouraging personal situation, per-formed his duties honestly, faithfully and intelligently. To these and to all ct hers who shared in the joys and sorrows of the past year, we give our thanks. Part II: THE JOURNAL OF MODERN EDUCATION: The Journal successfully carried through its fifth year of pub-lication. The fact that Amir Eff. did most of the editorial work in America proved to be no handicap. The Editorial Staff was reorganized at the beginning of the year to correspond to the changed conditions. Mr. Galt, the founder of the magazine, has found his energies more and more Libsorbed in the College of Arts and this year being in kierica and entirely inactive on the mag-azine, was dropped from its board of editors by Co:lmittee action. The debt which the Journal owes to Mr. Galt is one that can neither be stated - nor repaid. The new editorial line-up included Amir Eff. as Editor-in- Chief, L.H. Reece as Managing Editor and Azir Eff. as Associate Editor. The printer of the Journal was changed at the beginning of the year. The Mokottaia Press having proved to be quite unsatisfactory, a favorable one year contract was made with Elias i4odern Press, formerly the printers of the magazine. The price is a little higher, but their service is satisfactory. 78 A new cover was adopted, beginning with the second issue. it replaced an old cover which was overloaded with type and quite unattractive from an artistic point of view. Zaki Eff. Amin, the drawing teacher for the College, gave much time and thought to its construction and deserves full credit for his wòrk and the excellent result achieved. No other Egyptian magazine, at the present time, can claim to have a better cover.
