The aim of this thesis is to gain a better understanding of real estate asset management. One of the more particular aims is to gain a better understanding of the viewpoints different parties, e.g., investors and banks have on real estate asset management. Another aim is to answer the question whether and how real estate asset management can create value. The research methods of this thesis are qualitative. The thesis consists of a literature review, which covers a quite broad range of topics related to real estate as an asset class and investment objective in order to showcase the broadness of the field of asset management.
