Add to ORKGSybil married Robert W Franklin in 1940. They had four children, one daughter and three sons, they family arriving in the Territory in 1956. Coming from a family of professional musicians, studying music and playing the piano at the age of eight, Sybil began with Darwin Musical Comedy Society as a pianist in 'Me and My Gal' at the Darwin Hall. In June 1957, Sybil became involved with the mayoral debutante balls, first as a pianist, then matron of honour. She trained debutantes for twenty eight years, her last appearance, as matron of honour, was at the bicentennial mayoral debutante ball in 1988.
