In the second event, Barbara Sloane's Rink from Catdston was first with Winnie Ehlert's Rink from Magrath, rupner-up. Marie Strong's Rink from Raymond was the winner of the 3rd event. There were four rinks from Raymond, one from Warner, four from Cardston and seven from Magrath in the spiel Mr. N. E. Blaxall made and donated a lovely leather purse to the Ladies Curling Club, Friday. Chances were sold and $42.00 was realized. The Evening Auxiliary to the Ladies Aid catered while Mrs. Ireta Matkin acted as Mistress of Ceremonies. President Winnie Ehlert gave the "Speech of Welcome" after which Mrs. Greta Mai presented the "Mai Trophy" to the club from her and her husband, Dan. The trophy is a travelling one, to be played for each year. The Magrath Lions beat the St. Basil’s Saints of Lethbridge Tuesday night, (4#-36) after losing their first game to them to gain a one all tie in the best of three ser­ies for the Commercial League Championship. The third and deciding game will be next Tuesday night at the Civic Centre in Lett- 5 bridge. The Lions go to Milk River Friday and Saturday to play in the tournament there. Keith Braithwaite was high for the Lions Mrs. Nellie Ririe, accompanied by Mr.■ & Mrs. Lee Brewerton of Raymond, motored to Salt Lake City Tuesday morning, where they will visit for the next few weeks. BIBLE PRESENTATION Thursday March 25th, the ladies of Mag­rath United Church W.A. presented eleven cop­ies of the Bible to the Magrath Municipal Hos­pital. The minister of the church, Rev. Pent-land was in charge of the ceremony. He com­mented on the fact that the Bible has become the common bond of all Christian religious groupB and has been a source of inspiration to everyone who has depended on it for help. He stated that because of these two facts, the ladies of the W,A. wished to make the Bible available to each and every patient of the Magrath Hospital. Mrs. J. Hocking, president of the W*A» presented one of the copies to Mr. Bridge, chairman of the hospital board, and he ac­cepted the Bible and expressed the appreci­ation of the hospital board, staff and pat­ients.
