Pastor Marshall Raby, East Waynesville and Antioch Baptist Church

In 1957 there were at least 15 Champion employees who were ordained ministers. Most of their pastoral duties took place outside of work, but when a special service was needed during work hours Champion often gave release time. In this photograph, Marshall Raby, Rewinder Room employee, is seen in his study doing some research as he prepares his Sunday sermon. Raby, pastor of both the East Waynesville and Antioch Baptist Churches in Haywood County, spends much time on revivals and mid-week prayer services.
