Pastors W. C. Barnett, Morning Star Baptist and Jim Conley, Church of God Prophecy

In 1957 there were at least 15 Champion employees who were ordained ministers. Most of their pastoral duties took place outside of work, but when a special service was needed during work hours Champion often gave release time. In this photograph, ministers chat with church members after services in Gibsontown. Bob Williams (left), retired Champion talks with W. C. Barnett, a pastor of the Morning Star Baptist Church and Champion employee, William Davidson (center), Champion mail clerk, ordained in the Baptist ministry in 1935, Jim Conley, also employed in the Pulp Mill and pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy, and Morris Lowery (right), a Champion Old Timer.
