Transtornos mentais em aeronautas brasileiros e a segurança operacional

This research aimed to examine how mental disorders can interfere with operational safety and increase the risk of air accidents caused by human factor, in addition to establishing the relationship between the probable causes of mental disorders and the journey of the brazilian aeronaut, that due to irregular hours of sleep, poor diet and other characteristics of the profession, have a significant impact on the private and working life. Such interference in quality of life bring reflexes and may contribute to the emergence or worsening of mental disorders and consequently to accidents and aircraft incidents linked to the human factor. It is characterized as an exploratory research with bibliographic and documentary procedure through books, articles, reports, regulations and laws. The approach used was qualitative and quantitative. Data analysis was performed by the information gathered by the theoretical foundation. When analyzing the results obtained from the research, it is concluded that the strenuous routine of the brazilians aeronauts can cause anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, and other somatic complaints commonly found in the community, representing a high social and economic cost, they are disabling and an important cause of absence from work, increases the demand on health services and threat to flight safetyEsta pesquisa teve o objetivo de analisar como os transtornos mentais podem interferir na segurança operacional e aumentar o risco de acidentes aéreos causados pelo fator humano, além de estabelecer a relação entre as prováveis causas dos transtornos mentais e a jornada do aeronauta brasileiro, que devido às horas irregulares de sono, a alimentação inadequada e demais características da profissão, apresentam reflexos significativos na vida particular e laboral. Tais interferências na qualidade de vida trazem reflexos, podendo contribuir para o surgimento ou agravamento de transtornos mentais e consequentemente à ocorrência de acidentes e incidentes aeronáuticos ligados ao fator humano. Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa exploratória com procedimento bibliográfico e documental por meio de livros, artigos, reportagens, regulamentos e leis. A abordagem utilizada foi qualitativa e quantitativa. A análise dos dados foi feita por meio das informações colhidas pela fundamentação teórica. Ao analisar os resultados obtidos com a pesquisa, conclui-se que a rotina extenuante dos aeronautas brasileiros pode gerar ansiedade, depressão, insônia, fadiga, entre outras queixas somáticas comumente encontradas na comunidade, representando um alto custo social e econômico, pois são incapacitantes e constituem causa importante de afastamento do trabalho, eleva a demanda nos serviços de saúde e ameaça à segurança de voo
