Object of the research – Assessment of the main factors of organization and management of volunteering in a sports organization. Aim of the research – Assess the main factors of organization and management of volunteering in a sports organization. Problematic issue – What determines the successful organization and management of volunteering in a sports organization? Objectives of the research: 1. Define the concept of volunteering, volunteer and their importance in the sports sector; 2. Describe the motivation and satisfaction of volunteers and the processes of volunteering in the sports sector; 3. Submit the main factors that determine the successful organization and management of volunteering in a sports organization; 4. Assess and submit the main factors of organization and management of volunteering in the „Tarptautinis maratonas“ organization. Research methods: 1. Review of scientific literature; 2. Questionnaire survy; 3. Descriptive statistics. Conclusions: Training, selection, motivation, promotion, attraction and retention of volunteers can be called the main processes of organization and management of volunteering, on the quality of which the activities of the organization and human resources management directly depend. The main factors that determine the successful organization and management of volunteering: the opportunity for the volunteer to gain new knowledge, skills, experience, learn new things, expand personal circle of acquaintances, make friendships, do meaningful work for others, discover yourself, use existing knowledge and organizations excellent communication skills, frequent visits to various events, seminars. The main factors of organization and management of volunteering at the „Tarptautinis maratonas“ organization were the appointment of volunteer coordinators, the competence and assistance of line managers, job requirements appropriate to the volunteers abilities, the volunteers willingness to delve into the goal of the task, organization of trainings, acquaintance with the mission and vision of the organization and certification of volunteers by certificates
