Management psychological aspects of the volunteering phenomenon in the sport sector

Research object - management psychological aspects of the volunteering phenomenon in the sport sector. Problem (exploratory) issue: how to organize a proper selection and retention of the volunteers according to the management psychological peculiarities. Aim of the research - to reveal management psychological aspects of the volunteering phenomenon in the sport sector. Research tasks: 1. To set and evaluate volunteers’ activity management peculiarities according to the age, gender, work and volunteering experience aspects. 2. To set and analyze volunteers’ activity psychological peculiarities according to the age, gender, work and volunteering experience aspects. Conclusions: 1. Volunteers’ activity management peculiarities showed that: 1.1 Most of all volunteers provide their support in the basketball competitions. Selection of the basketball competitions statistically significantly differs from the other sport branches in respect to the experience of volunteering (till 6 months and over 6 months) (p0.05). 1.4 The main reason to become a sport volunteer was a wish to try that activity in the sport sector: referring to the particular cause it differed according to the age: senior were ready to meet other volunteers and continue an involvement into sport after the end of the sportsman/woman carrier or assisted for a help for the volunteering activities. Younger volunteers emphasized more possibilities to get new skills and wish to try (p<0.05). The difference according to the gender, occupation, volunteering skills statistically unimportant. 1.5. The main problems related with the volunteering activities organization are the lack of volunteering people and their lack of time after the working hours. Problems are defined concerning to the age aspect: younger remark obstacles of the lack of volunteers, time lack and unfashionable tendencies and older people are unsatisfied due to the wasted efforts of the unorganized activities (p<0.05). In the aspects of the gender, occupation, volunteering experience difference of the results statistically is not important. 1.6. An attitude of the sports volunteers union members towards young volunteers is statistically credible due to the aspect of the age: more young people think that youth is very important and is to be invited to become volunteers; the most of the senior volunteers think that the young ones create kind of risk as of volunteers (p<0.05). The research of the psychological peculiarities in the volunteering activity revealed that: 2.1. Results of the personal motivation to become sport volunteers credibly differ according to the gender aspect: many volunteer women think that this is a very good opportunity to get new skills; however men are more willing to encourage personal interests (p < 0.05). In the aspects of the age, occupation, volunteering experience difference of the results statistically is not important. 2.2. The selection of the volunteering individually and with the past friends differs due to the age aspect: young volunteers are more willing to work and communicate only with past friends, and the senior one are more willing to perform works individually (p<0.05). Conception of the social integration is different concerning to the occupation aspect: 1/3 of an unemployed number imagines this as of an assistance of the current friends; but this aspect is not defined by the working volunteers at all (p<0.05). Major reasons which encouraged becoming sport volunteer and getting a satisfaction: an attractive experience, meeting with various people and appreciation of personal improvement level.
