A "Spanish department" (p. 127-130) gives recipes such as "Estofado", "Fricasseed tripe", "To stuff peppers", "Chili (Spanish) zalza, sauce piquant", "Sopa Espanola", etc. "Spanish" (probably Mexican) and the recipes of other countries (e.g., Germany, France) can be found in every "department". Advertising matter from local merchants, mostly for domestic goods (groceries, tableware, furniture), is interspersed throughout.
