As a learning resource, the world of game and play offers itself as a powerful ally in the effort of renovating History teaching methods and styles, as has long been requested by Didactics of the Social Sciences. This article explores from a theoretical point of view the different didactic methods that make use of games and presents an example of gamified didactic design based on a historically ambiented interactive narrative game. With the didactic functionality of the device tested on a first experimental occasion, the analysis of the teacher’s perception during the activity and the students’ feedback collected through inquiry complement the results of a regular knowledge test and allow to reflect on the potential and limitations of such ...
