The article proposes an analysis on the influence of English on Italian in scientific writing focussing in particular on information structure. This is explored using a parallel/comparable corpus of English source texts, their Italian translations and original Italian articles in the domain of popular physics. The article suggests that translators do to some extent reproduce the information structure of the original English texts and that a degree of \u2018unnaturalness\u2019 derives as a result
