The agenda was considered and approved. 1.4796 MINUTES: The minutes of 10 January 1959 were read and approved. 1.4797 STATEMENT ON TENURE (enclosure 299): The question was raised as to whether the statement was consistent with the Labor Laws of Egypt. It was indicated that the statement will be gone over by the University lawyer before it goes into effect. There was considerable discussion regarding the suggestion that a statement be included to cover termination because of sickness* It was decided to make the following addition on page 2, after (c), as a footnote: "Termination due to disatility is not included in this statement"* On page 2, under (e), in the 4th line, "accused teacher" was changed to read "teacher concerned". The statement was then approved by the Senate and will be sent to New York for consideration by the Board of Trustees. 1.4798 STATEMENT ON LEAVES OF ABSENCE (enclosure 300): On page 2, item 2, "Home Leave", in the 1st line, "non-Egyptian" was changed to read "non-resident", and the word "summer" was inserted before "home leave" Also under "Home Leave", in the 2nd line from the bottom, "for men" was crossed out* The statement was then approved by the Senate and will be sent to New York for consideration by the Board of Trustees. 1*4799 ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 a.m# Eleanor Williams Secretary pro te
