and aided in planning and execution by AUC. Dr. Pedersen reported that the project in Cairo possibly involving AUC has been stopped by the Ministry of Education; and the projects in Saudi Arabia involving AUC have been slowed down because of the difficulty AUC personnel have in obtaining visas. However, Dr. Pedersen did announce that a fourth project, a private technical college at Sadat City, has been approved by the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education. AUC is not participating in this venture. However, Dr. Farouk el Hittami is on its board and Salah Kamel of Saudia Arabia is putting money into it. Mr. Hyde referred to the concern the Board had expressed in the May committee meeting of CACE extending too fast. He acknowledged Dr. Pedersen's comments about the above three projects - one cancelled and two substantially slowed - but requested that Dr. Brown submit at the coming Board meeting a long range plan for the CACE, so that the Board could have an understanding of the scope and intent of the CACE in the future. Mr. Hyde stressed that he wanted a one or two page memo, not a detailed, lengthy report. 4. Director of the Division of Commercial and Industrial Training. Dr. Robert Younghoue is in place as director, his appointment having been made last spring. His particular competence is in the health and medical field. Dr. Pedersen reports that both in the health and business fields, CIT programs should expand because of Dr. Younghouse's qualifications and expertise. Under the topic of the health care program, Dr. Pedersen reported that the health care program is going along well in Cairo. Mr. Hyde, referring to the May minutes, inquired about a list of hospitals and personnel in Saudi Arabia associated with the Washington Health Care International (WHCI). This list was to be furnished by CACE to Mr. Kelberer who was to check on the effectiveness of WHCI in Saudi Arabia. The list was not sent to Mr. Kelberer; the check, therefore, never completed. Mr. Hyde recommended that Dr. Brown obtain and send such a list to Mr. Kelberer. 5. Appointment of the Director of the Division of Public Service.
