The agenda ~ adopted as presented. 2. The minutes of the previous meeting ~ approved. 1. The President'~ Report: President Pedersen presented his report covering the following major items: A. He described the situation prevailing in Cairo and assured the Board that the operations of the University were not adversely affected by the current events. Dr. Pedersen said that though there was heightened security, there was no cause for alarm. Vice President Allam commented further on this matter. B. The President underlined the role played by Dr. and Mrs. Bartlett in convincing Senator Hatfield to support legislation which would secure our LE 10 million appropriations. But the President said that the University would have to marshall its forces with AID and the U.S. Government if the required level of support from government sources were to be realized. The President briefed the Trustees on the recent visit of Hosny Mubarek to Vice-President Bush and his arguments for continued U.S. support of the University. C.
