Social Research Center: It was agreed that consideration of the third item on the Agenda, Social Research Center, should be brought forward to enable Dr. Gadalla to present his report prior to leaving on a field trip. Dr. Gadalla presented a booklet to the Committee Social Research Center Activities and organization reviewing current projects and outlining biographical data on SRC staff members. Dr. Gadalla presented a brief summary of the progress of the Menoufia Project, stressing SRC's pioneering role in facilitating a direct grant to the governorate by AID, and the success of the joint approach by AUC, Menoufia Governorate, and the Ministries of Health and Social Affairs in pro viding an intergrated social services program. The field of population planning is one which is currently enjoy­ing strong government support as part of Egypt's overall develop­ment plan. The government has agreed to expand the intergrated social services delivery project to four other governorates. The SRC is collecting data to measure the impact of such programs, and has figures showing an increase in use of family planning methods from 15% to 32% of the population in Menoufia
