Seven principal sources for financial support have been identified: alumni, American companies (in the U.S. and Middle East principally), the Egyptian Government (perhaps as a source of scholarships), American foundations, Trust~es, non-American institutions and governments, and wealthy individuals. The Committee believes the above should be approached without enlisting the services of a high-paid professional fund raiser. In the Committee's view, the present fund raising staff has done a compre~nsive and competent job within the limits of staff and budget size. Some augmentation of the New York develop­ment staff is envisaged and recommended. Copies of the film on AUC are available to Trustees for development and public relations purposes. A la-minute version specifically aimed at fund rai~ing, particularly with corporations, is being considered. Mr. Kelberer and President Pedersen will concentrate on wealthy and influential AUC alumni in the Gulf area. g. Campus Planning and Housing Committee -- Mr. Bacon, Chairman, re­ported. The new Library should be finished by December 1, 1980 and moving in should occur during January, 1981. The glass which has been a problem is being installed now . The ceiling ~ill be installed in April, the floor in May and the furniture thereafter. The AID dollar grant has been exhausted, and con­tributions by Mrs. Lila Acheson Wallace and the Dodge Foundation will now be utilized and should be sufficient to see the project to completion. Hill House will be vacated when the new Library is completed and a discussion continues about the use to which it should be put. The Committee recommends that it be renovated for academic use. New facilities for faculty and student housing have been proposed by the Administration.
