-2- Option II A decision may be made to remain in the present location and expand by building a high rise on the grounds of the men's hostel and by acquiring contiguous property. This alternative asstunes that it would be feasible to construct a high rise on the tennis courts of the men's hostel. Such a structure could be mUlti-purpose: serve as a girls' hostel and also for general academic purposes. Contiguous land, with buildings, might become available. The French lycee administration has been approached at least three times during the past five years. The answer has always been "not for sale." Owners of apartments adj acent to the New Campus have been approached, and at least one has been willing to sell. TI1e tenants, how­ever, go ''lith the building which would forestall AVC use. It might be possible to raze the present DPS building on the New Campus and replace it with a functional high rise that would serve a variety of pUl~oses. There would be a virtually insoluble problem of continuing operations during the period of rebuilding. Option III Option III envisions a new modern campus that would permit orderly growth and expansion in the years ahead. There are four consecutive and related steps to be taken if a deci - sion is reached to opt for a new campus. Step 1. Sufficient land must be made available, free and clear, to acconuuodate the transplanted AVC and to provide for long - term expansion.
