In August, Mike Stone organized appointments for Burt Wallace to visit corporate presidents and old friends of AUC in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. The important result of these sessions was the interest that corporate presidents have in the Middle East and particularly in the University Educational Endowment Fund . Such corporations as Del Monte Internationa, Food I~achinery Corporation, and Ampex exhibited direct interest in discussing fund services. All three of these corporations also suggested that we submit fund raising proposals. Mike also set up an introduction with Bechtel, following up on a call we made on their officers in Cairo in February. Bechtel accepted a proposal from AU
