Minute 1027 Agenda III Minute 1028 Agenda I V The American University in Cairo Minutes of meeting of THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES New York City March 13. 1993 Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the American Uni­versity in Cairo was held on March 13, 1963, in the New York offices, 175 Fifth Avenue, and was called to order by the Chairman, Dr. J. Edward Dirks, at 9:15 a.m. Present: J. Edward Dirks, C~ainnan, Raymond F. Mclain, President, and Mrs. Lloyd, Messrs. Barco. Cole, Crary, Dodds, Dorwin, Payne; Messrs. Newscxn and Thofne. Miss Lister and Mr. Kuhn ~re also present. The Agenda as proposed for the meeting was reviewed and accepted. Mrs. Lloyd, Chairman of the Committee on Nominations, reported approval by mail ballot of the election of Mr. John R. Newsom and Mr. Landon K. Thorne, Jr. The Com­mittee presented their names for formal election. Upon motion duly seconded it was voted unanimously, RESOLVED That the affirmative mail ballot for the following new Board members be honored and that their election to the Board be ratified and approved, such election to take effect for a term of three years, 1963--66: John R. Newsom landon K. Thorne, Jr. On motion duly made and seconded, the Minutes of the meeting of the Board held on November 8, 1962, were approved as previously sent to the trustees; minutes of the meeting of the Executive Committee and the Committee on Financial Development held on February 14th were approved tentatively as reviewed by the Chairman; copy of the minutes of this meeting to be sent to the trustees. Mr. Dodds, Chairman of the Committee on Investments re­ported that a meeting of the committee had been held in Pittsburgh on March 8, 1963, to consider the suggestion of the Board that consideration be given to a greater diversification in the security holdings of the University
